There was a little suburban town known as Blue Ridge.

And while a frigid breeze cuts through the city year round, it's some of the people who seem to be the coldest.

Rowan Connors may have been doomed from the start, as the accident child of two foolish teenagers who would grow into foolish, petty adults. When Rowan was ten years old, the father, Raven Page, left his girlfriend shortly after she gave birth to their third child. Only a month later, Rowan was assaulted, leading to some head trauma and long term memory loss.

Then came their teenage years. Abigail, the mother, managed to ship Rowan's twin off to a boarding school in Quebec, but Rowan was rejecting, as the head trauma suffered made it difficult to recall elementary level French, or any other subject, really. Fortunately, while Rowan's brain couldn't remember French, or mathematics, or literature, the disgruntled child's heart remembered the violin lessons Raven had passed down to his children.

Heeding the advice of middle school counselors, Rowan applied to Blue Ridge High School. While the new student failed the exam, a short violin rehearsal convinced the school board that Rowan was a hard worker. Now, the counselors were certain that a new school, with even higher expectations than their own, would turn the cynic into a model citizen.

They were wrong.

The past is set in stone now. The future is unpredictable, but a course has already been set. And changing it might just take a little bit of elbow grease (or all of it. Our protagonist kind of has our work cut out for us...)
